AFKInsider Bloggers Contest

AFKInsider bloggers contest seeks to discover creative African Business bloggers who write and are interested in technology, agriculture, entrepreneurship, real estate, entertainment, politics, mining and other general news that cover the continent. 

What kind of bloggers is AFKInsider looking for and how does one go about being considered?

AFKInsider is looking for authentic original content that is well reported and entertaining for the African audience. We are looking for someone that can fill a gap in the African media space by writing unique stories that other media sources don’t usually cover. To be considered as a guest blogger at AFKInsider one has to simply submit your blog or stories from your blog for review by our panel editors through info@afkinsider.com.

What does the blogger gain from this contest?

The best blogger every month will be asked to write a paid weekly story for AFKInsider the next month. The blogger will also get publicity by having a short interview on them on AFKInsider and having a link to their blog in all the stories they shall write for AFKInsider.
 

What AFKInsider is expecting from participating bloggers?

In 2014 AFKInsider is looking to expand its coverage of the African content with more original and engaging stories. Blogger participating in this contest should expect to be challenged to write stories on existing opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures in Africa. They should be able to prove that the ‘African Rising’ narrative that dotted most of the media last year is indeed happening.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS
  • Meeting project commitments, including communications with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead or assist in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects for new systems and technologies
  • Developing a defined, agreed upon project management methodology; agreeing project objectives; facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks and resource requirements
  • Resolving conflicts and solve problems throughout project life cycle
  • Developing methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary
  • Responsible for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project or project
  • Presenting oral and written reports defining plans, problems and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
MANAGE PROJECT BUDGET AND RESOURCE ALLOCATION
  • Facilitate the definition of service levels and client requirements
  • Interact regularly with existing or potential clients to determine their needs and to develop plans for improving delivery
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and represent clients’ needs as appropriate to senior management
